ABCCM’s Loaves & Fishes Food Drive collecting donations through April

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – ABCCM’s Loaves & Fishes Food Drive is underway through the month of April, collecting food and donations for families in need. ABCCM works with over 300 member churches to fight hunger in our communities all year long. 

ABCCM Executive Director, Rev. Scott Rogers, notes that one of the greatest gifts we can give beyond the kindness of a smile or hug, is water and food for our neighbors. “Following the holidays and winter, the stores in our food pantries start to run low,” he says, “and the need is greater. In January 2024 we provided 12,814 food bags through our Crisis Ministries, compared to 7,793 in January 2023. 

ABCCM asks that when shopping now and through April, please remember the families who are choosing between gas, food, or medicine, and are working multiple jobs just to get by. Put these families on your grocery shopping list by purchasing three of your favorite items – one for you and two for others – and dropping them off at your church or ABCCM’s Ministries or Clinic. 

“Please encourage your church, Sunday school class, prayer group or Bible study to have a food drive for the Crisis Ministry near you,” Rev. Rogers says. “ABCCM Crisis Ministry locations are accepting food donations at all four locations. Call 828-259-5300 for more information.”
