'......for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'                                                                                                                                               Matt:35-36

A message from the Executive Director

For those fortunate enough to have taken part in the formative months and years of this ministry, it is a memory that will not easily fade. We had such hopes and plans and togetherness, that it was a joyous time as well as a time of praying that this was just the beginning, and that others would continue to feel as we did about this endeavor and work toward its future success

ABCCM was formed by churches and pastors to respond to emergency assistance needs in the community. ABCCM seeks to create opportunities for its member churches and affiliate congregations to serve together in a cooperative and collaborative manner which extends the mission of each church in reaching out to serve others in need in the name of Christ.

Founded in 1969 by eight Buncombe County Churches, ABCCM is now a cooperative ministry of more than 260 churches accomplishing what individual congregations cannot accomplish alone. ABCCM creates opportunities for others to restore the dignity of the "least of our neighbors" by offering grace and mercy in service. Through dedicated volunteers and generous supporters, thousands of needy families are given compassion and hope.

ABCCM helps tens of thousands of our Buncombe County neighbors in need each year through our five ministries. The demand for resources is staggering. If it weren't for the generosity of local churches, individuals, and businesses, many of these deserving people would suffer despair and hopelessness.

ABCCM's Administrators, Program Managers and Other Staff work closely with our Board of Directors to ensure that our staff and facilities are merely an extension of the ownership of each congregation's facilities. We look to our churches to define that mission, and utilize our common resources and experiences, in meeting the critical needs of the under-served thereby providing the framework for ongoing ministry in the name of Christ to our community.

Now, some thirty-eight years later, we do sincerely thank the Lord for all the churches that, through the years have continued not only to support this program, but have been responsible for making it grow and grow! We are pleased and grateful to everyone who has had any part of this wonderful ministry.
